City Barbeque to Open New Restaurant in Lexington, KY on December 13, 2014
Lexington, KY—City Barbeque, an award-winning barbeque joint built on a foundation of “low and slow” smoked meats, a wide variety of side dishes, delectable desserts and a healthy dose of backyard hospitality, will open its second Lexington location at 2187 Harrodsburg Rd. on Saturday, December 13 at 10:30 a.m. For over 15 years, City Barbeque has offered authentic competition quality barbeque to its customers, and the team looks forward to continuing that tradition at its newest location.
Throughout the day, City Barbeque will be offering samples to guests and encouraging University of Kentucky students and fans attending the North Carolina basketball game to join the festivities and stop by before or after the game. Customers will find a wide selection of smoked meats, including pulled pork, brisket, pulled chicken, St Louis cut ribs, sausage, and its most recent 2014 nationally recognized award-winning item: smoked turkey. Diners also will not want to miss homemade warm cobbler, sweet corn pudding, hand-dipped hush puppies, baked beans with brisket, and fresh-cut fries, among many others.
“This grand opening represents the increasing excitement for the barbeque lifestyle within the Lexington community,” said City Barbeque General Manager Ryan Minser. “This new location will feature our first ever curbside pick-up service. We want to make it as easy as possible for our fans to include us in their busy lives.”
The Harrodsburg joint is also currently hiring team members who like to have fun! Applicants can apply online at www.citybbq.com/careers/
It all began when a barbeque competition team put their talents to the test and won the nationally acclaimed Open Champion and 1st Place Brisket award at the American Royal Invitational. Two years later, in 1999, City Barbeque was born. Rather than just develop a barbeque joint, Rick Malir, lead Pit Boss, and friends toured America’s best joints to create the ultimate barbeque experience to share with the community. The first Lexington restaurant opened in June 2012 and has been voted “Best Barbeque in Lexington” for the last two years.
