City Barbeque Announces Charity Weekend With Ronald McDonald House Charities Of The Bluegrass In Celebration Of Grand Opening

Restaurant To Donate Percentage Of Sales From December 13 and 14 To Local Nonprofit

LEXINGTON K.Y.—City Barbeque has announced that ten percent of proceeds from its grand opening weekend on Saturday, December 13 through Sunday, December 14 will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass. The funds will benefit Ronald McDonald’s programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and strengthen families by keeping them together in times of medical need.

“We are thrilled to be chosen as the charity to benefit from what is to be a weekend of celebration. For the past 30 years we have opened our doors to families with children receiving medical treatments in Lexington, KY. Gathering a family around a table to enjoy a meal that is cooked just for them is one of the many facets to our organization’s operation. It is imperative to help keep families together and stronger so that they can face what tomorrow brings,” said Sarah Jordan, Special Events and Promotions Coordinator for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass.

RMHC of the Bluegrass is also celebrating 30 years of providing hope and serving as a “home away from home” for thousands of families in need.

“We care about our neighbors and like to share our successes with local organizations who are making a difference, especially this time of year,” said Rick Malir, City Barbeque founder. “We believe in helping the community, and will actively seek ways in which we can improve the lives of people in and around the Lexington area. This is part of what we like to call backyard hospitality.”

City Barbeque believes that great barbeque isn’t just about food; it’s also about community. The restaurant continuously demonstrates their support of the local community by giving more than ten percent of their pretax profits to local nonprofit organizations. City Barbeque will help the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass and nearly 1000 other local organizations raise funds for community-based projects this year.
